Once upon a time, in a big, green forest, there was a friendly donkey named Danny. One day, as Danny was exploring, he stumbled upon a lion’s skin left behind by a hunter. Curious and playful, Danny got an idea – he decided to try it on!
With the lion’s skin draped over him, Danny felt like the mightiest creature in the forest. He hid in the bushes and leaped out, trying to surprise his fellow animals. Every time he did, they would scamper away in fear, thinking a real lion was coming!
Danny was so thrilled to see the animals running away from him. He brayed loudly, sounding just like a lion’s roar (or so he thought). The animals, scared by the noise, dashed off even faster.
Among them was a clever little fox named Freddy. He didn’t run too far before stopping and turning to Danny with a mischievous grin.
“If you had kept quiet,” Freddy chuckled, “you might have fooled me too! But that loud bray of yours gave you away.”
Danny, realizing his mistake, couldn’t help but laugh. He had learned that pretending to be someone you’re not might work for a little while, but your true self will always show in the end.
And so, Danny went back to being a happy donkey, enjoying the company of his friends in the forest. From that day on, whenever he wanted to play, he left the lion’s skin behind and just brayed as Danny the Donkey – the friendliest creature in the forest.
The moral of the story is: No matter how we dress up or pretend, our true selves come through in our words and actions. Be yourself and let your true colors shine! The end.
