Ruth and Naomi

Ruth and Naomi, Bible Story,

Origin: The Book of Ruth in the Bible

Once upon a time, in a faraway land called Moab, there lived a woman named Naomi. Naomi had a daughter-in-law named Ruth, who was from Moab too. They were very close and loved each other like family.

One day, Naomi decided to go back to her homeland, Bethlehem, because there was more food there. Ruth loved Naomi so much that she said, “Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.”

So Ruth and Naomi traveled together to Bethlehem. When they arrived, they didn’t have much food or money. But Ruth worked very hard to take care of Naomi. She went to the fields to pick up leftover grain so they could have something to eat.

Now, there was a kind man named Boaz who owned one of the fields where Ruth went to gather grain. He noticed Ruth and asked about her. When he found out that she was Naomi’s daughter-in-law, he was very impressed by her loyalty and kindness.

Boaz told Ruth to stay in his fields where she would be safe and where she could gather plenty of grain. He even made sure that his workers left extra grain for Ruth to collect.

Naomi was very happy when Ruth came home with so much grain. She knew that Boaz was a good man who could help them. So she told Ruth to keep working in Boaz’s fields.

One day, Naomi had an idea. She told Ruth to go to the threshing floor where Boaz was working and to lie down near his feet while he slept. Ruth did as Naomi said, and when Boaz woke up, he was surprised to find Ruth there.

Boaz was very touched by Ruth’s kindness and loyalty to Naomi. He promised to take care of Ruth and Naomi and to help them in any way he could.

In the end, Boaz married Ruth, and they had a happy life together. Ruth and Naomi never had to worry about food or money again because Boaz took care of them.

And so, children, the story of Ruth and Naomi teaches us about love, loyalty, and kindness. Ruth’s love for Naomi shows us how important it is to take care of our family and friends. It also reminds us that God takes care of us and helps us when we are kind to others.
