Joshua and the Battle of Jericho

Joshua and the Battle of Jericho, Bible Story

Origin: Joshua 6 in the Bible

Once upon a time, there was a brave and faithful man named Joshua. Joshua was chosen by God to lead the Israelites, God’s chosen people, into the land of Canaan.

One of the first cities they came across was Jericho, a strong and fortified city with tall walls. The people of Jericho were afraid of the Israelites because they had heard about the great things God had done for them.

Joshua knew that conquering Jericho would not be easy, but he trusted in God’s plan. So, he gathered his army and marched around the city once a day for six days. On the seventh day, they marched around the city seven times.

As they marched, the priests blew their trumpets, and the people shouted loud praises to God. Then, at Joshua’s command, the people let out a mighty shout!

Suddenly, something miraculous happened. The walls of Jericho collapsed! The Israelites rushed into the city and defeated their enemies. They captured the city and everything in it, just as God had promised.

Joshua and his army knew that it was God who had given them the victory. They praised God for His faithfulness and power.

And so, children, the story of Joshua and the Battle of Jericho teaches us about the power of faith and obedience. Joshua trusted in God’s plan, followed His instructions, and saw God’s miraculous power at work.
