Jesus Feeds the 5,000

Jesus feeding bread to lots of people, Bible Story

Origin: Matthew 14:13-21 in the Bible

Once upon a time, Jesus went to a quiet place to spend time with His friends, the disciples. But the crowds of people followed Him because they wanted to hear His teachings and see the miracles He performed.

As the day went on, the people grew hungry, and there was no food to be found nearby. The disciples came to Jesus and said, “Master, it’s getting late, and the people are hungry. We should send them away so they can find food in the nearby villages.”

But Jesus replied, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

The disciples were surprised and looked around, but they only found five loaves of bread and two fish, barely enough to feed themselves, let alone the thousands of people gathered there.

Jesus took the loaves and fish, looked up to heaven, and blessed them. Then, He broke the loaves into pieces and gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. And miraculously, the bread and fish kept multiplying in their hands until everyone had eaten their fill.

Not only were the people fed, but there were also twelve baskets full of leftover bread and fish!

The people were amazed at this miracle and realized that Jesus was truly someone special. They praised God and thanked Jesus for providing them with food.

This incredible miracle showed the power of Jesus’ love and compassion. He cared deeply for the needs of the people and showed that with God, anything is possible.

And so, children, the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 teaches us about the importance of sharing, caring for others, and trusting in God’s provision. Just like Jesus, we should always be willing to help those in need and trust that God will provide for us in miraculous ways.

Remember, like the disciples, always be ready to share what you have with others, and God will bless your kindness and generosity.
